Boy Dies from Injuries in Accident That Killed His Two Sisters

A 5-year-old boy died hours after a tractor-trailer crashed into his family's minivan, killing his two young sisters and injuring his mother and grandmother, authorities said Saturday.

Kyle Coble had surgery after the Friday afternoon crash on Interstate 5 but died later in the evening at Mission Hospital. His sisters, 2-year-old Katie Coble and 4-year-old Emma Coble had died minutes apart at different hospitals earlier Friday, said Officer Katrina Lundgren of the California Highway Patrol.

Traffic had slowed to a crawl on the freeway north of Oso Parkway, and the minivan came to a stop in the slow lane. The driver of the tractor-trailer, 37-year-old Jorge Miguel Romero of Apple Valley, apparently didn't see the stopped traffic. His rig crushed the minivan and pushed it into an SUV.

"He just couldn't stop in time," Lundgren said. "There isn't any DUI suspected. There wasn't any inattention. He just couldn't stop."

If there was no inattention by the driver, then why couldn't he stop on time? He sits up higher than most vehicles and can see the whole expanse of the freeway. If he cannot judge the amount of stopping time his truck needs, then he has no business driving a truck or any other moving vehicle. Fortunately for him, he can go home and see his kids at night. Because of his recklessness, the Cobles will never hold their children again. This guy deserves to do jail time, at the bare minimum. I would gladly lead the march to put him there.

"There wasn't any inattention. He just couldn't stop."
Do not add insult to injury! Was he inexperienced to handle the truck? How fast was he going if he could not stop?
Then laws need to be changed and issued! More classes taught at a higher learning. Maybe per weight of load they can drive!
This man's careless driving has wiped out a family. Who cares if he feels bad. How do these parents feel living in the home they bought for their family, seeing the cereal that the children once ate, going into their EMPTY bedrooms?
This is no ACCIDENT! This could and should have been prevented!Laws need to change and so do drivers qualifications!

I hope this truck driver goes to jail.
His carelessness killed these three innocent children. These children did not have to die.
We need stronger laws and law enforcement to prevent dangerous driving of big rigs.
Why didn't he at least swerve to the side of the road?
Is there any way to distribute this terrible story to lots of truck drivers? Perhaps it should be included in truck driver training courses (if there are courses).

These Children won't have another Christmas, Easter, Thankgiving, Halloween, or even a Birthday. Their parents can't hold them anymore. This guy should go to jail for like life. Lets have some justice for the Coble Family.
