I-94 reopens after deadly wreck (4 Days ago)

Traffic resumed on eastbound Interstate 94 late this afternoon after a horrific crash this morning killed a truck driver and damaged an overpass.

An 18-wheeler carrying a load of steel crashed into the Warren Avenue bridge at I-94 this morning, closing the freeway and leaving thousands of motorists stranded in back-ups that stretched for miles.

The 10:40 a.m. accident caused another semi to crash, although it apparently did not hit the overpass, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation. The cab of the second semi, which was carrying auto parts, was crushed. Witnesses say the driver of the second truck was killed.
